Brow Lamination: What’s The Hype?
Hey, besties - if you didn’t already know brow lamination is kind of my thing so let’s talk a little bit about it! To start off, it’s very important that your service provider is using a product that’s meant for the brows - a higher concentration of perming agents (and usually a higher pH) in lash lift products is why they create a “crispy” looking brow lamination with an increased risk of skin sensitivity. Let’s talk a little bit about what I use and why I love it!
Catch a timelapse of the service on Instagram!
Step 1: Prep and Protect
Contains amino acids, biotin, soy extract and antioxidants to prevent breakage
Helps to soften the hair to ensure maximum penetration of the lift lotion
Step 2: Lift Lotion
Contains vegan keratin and humectants to lift and nourish at the same time
Breaks the disulfide bonds in the brow hairs so the structure and positioning can be manipulated
Alkaline lotion with a pH of 8.2 - this means it’s incredibly gentle and minimizes the risk of skin sensitivity and irritation
Step 3: Set/Tint Lotion
Contains plant oils and humectants to set and nourish at the same time
Restores the disulfide bonds in the brow hairs to cement the new structure and positioning
Mixed with your brow tint to minimize service time (so you can come in on your lunch)
Step 4: Glow Up
Contains vegan keratin, plant oils and humectants to smooth and protect the brows post-treatment
Protects the brows from environmental factors like rain, snow or humidity post-treatment to protect the integrity of your service
Aftercare
Brow butter is a protein-infused conditioner that helps soften the hair, maintain your tint color and prevents premature loss of brow hair (a must post-treatment)
Brow pomade is a water activated styling product (imagine an elevated version of brow soap) that helps cement the brows into place
